ROCKVILLE – Two trucks were involved in an accident on state Route 9 near Rockville Monday morning.
Cpl. Todd Johnson of the Utah Highway Patrol said construction was taking place on SR-9 near milepost 24 when the accident occurred. Eastbound traffic was being stopped to allow westbound traffic through at the time. An air-conditioner service truck was parked at the tail-end of the waiting traffic when a lumber truck failed to stop, rear-ending the vehicle.
Johnson said the drivers of both vehicles were treated at the scene and released. The driver of the lumber truck was also cited for following too close behind another vehicle.
“There were plenty of (warning) signs for the driver to stop,” Johnson said.
The driver of the air conditioning truck was Dave Amodt, a photographer for St. George News. After the accident he said he went to the hospital to be checked for whiplash, but is otherwise fine.

Prayers for a quick recovery…chiropractors are your new friends.
Thank you, San! We appreciate the prayers!
I rest my case on why some ‘junk in the trunk’ is a good thing. If he’d been driving a smart car, I doubt the outcome would have been as fortunate.
Murat – I have always said the same thing!
Sorry to hear about the accident….but glad to hear that Dave is okay..!
Thank you, D. Riggs! God is so good and I know He was protecting Dave! 🙂
It’s terrible when I have to read about my friend Dave in the news like this. Thoughts and prayers with you my friend!
Thanks, Steve! 🙂
