19-year-old St. George man dies from rollover on I-15

LAS VEGAS – A 19-year old St. George man died Sunday after being ejected from a vehicle on Interstate 15 in Nevada at milepost 69.

Nathan M. Short, of St. George, was traveling northbound on I-15 in a four-door 2001 Hyundai around 7:30 p.m. when the driver lost control and caused the vehicle to veer right onto the right shoulder. The vehicle rotated back across the northbound lanes and entered the center median. It then overturned in the center median, continued overturning through the median and entered the southbound I-15 number one travel lane.

At this time Short, the right-front passenger, was ejected from the vehicle.

Short was transported to University Medical Center trauma by air ambulance in critical condition.  He passed away at 11:13 p.m. Sunday.

The remaining three occupants were transported toUMCTrauma by ground ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. None of the occupants including the deceased were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
