ST. GEORGE – Dr. Stephen D. Nadauld, president of Dixie State College of Utah, has once again issued his annual challenge to the College and St. George area community to try and beat him to the finish line. DSC will host the Fifth Annual President’s Welcome Back Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 8 a.m., at Hansen Stadium on the college campus.
The President’s Welcome Back Run/Walk is free for all to participate. The near 5-kilometer course will start and finish at Hansen Stadium, and will weave around and through the DSC campus. As an added incentive, all participants who beat President Nadauld to the finish line will receive a voucher good for 25 percent off any apparel or novelty purchase at the DSC Bookstore.
The event will also serve as an introduction for the DSC President’s Fitness Loops, a system of five walking or jogging trails ranging from .25 to 2 miles in length around and through the DSC campus. The Fitness Loops, along with the soon to be constructed “D-Circuit” physical fitness training facility, will make DSC the place for students, faculty and staff, and the community to exercise their bodies as well as their minds.
When completed, the D-Circuit facility, located just south of the Udvar-Hazy School of Business building adjacent to the sand volleyball courts, will feature eight workout stations that can be utilized both day and night.
Registration forms for the President’s Fun Run/Walk are available at the DSC campus and through the Dixie State College Box Office online . Early registration is encouraged, as the first 250 entrants will receive a free race t-shirt, though entries will be accepted on race day. Check-in and late registration will begin at 7 a.m.
