ST. GEORGE – A free course called Facebook for Business will be offered in St. George this Friday at the main library branch downtown.

Chanda Gunter, social media marketing consultant, will teach the course. The course “is designed to help business owners understand the basic functions of social media, Facebook fan pages and the tools Facebook offers to assist businesses in marketing,” Gunter said.

Gunter has worked with several businesses in the area including the Washington City Chamber of Commerce.

“Small business is a passion of mine as well as social media and it is my privilege to help and work with local business from all over the St. George area. It is my goal to supply the tools they need to become more successful in their social media efforts,” she said.

In this hands-on class, attendees will learn the business side of Facebook, how to set up and properly use a business page, best practices, tips and tricks, advertising tools, and much more.  The course will be 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012, at the St. George main library, located at 88 West 100 South.
