ST. GEORGE – The Snow Canyon Warriors came from behind to win yesterday and advance to the 3A State Championship baseball game today at 11 a.m.

The Warriors broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 7-3 lead over the Spanish Fork Dons. The No. 1 ranked Dons could not add any runs in the top of the final inning and fell into the consolation bracket.

The Dons will take on Juan Diego today at 9 a.m. The winner of that game will take on the Warriors in the state championship game.

Coming into the state tournament, the Dons were the No. 1 ranked team and Juan Diego was the No. 2 ranked team in 3A. The Warriors have now beat both teams in the state tournament, and either the Dons or Juan Diego will have to beat the Warriors twice today to win the state title.

The Warriors beat Juan Diego in the first round of the state tournament 3-1.

Earlier Friday, the Canyon View Falcons lost to Juan Diego in the consolation bracket, ending the Falcons’ season.
