Four arrested in wake of St. George burglary

ST. GEORGE – Four individuals were arrested in connection to the attempted burglary in St. George Thursday that resulted in the shooting of one of the alleged suspects.

St. George Police received a reported of a burglary in progress at 1366 W. Indian Hills Drive Thursday just before 9 a.m. The caller reported some people broke into his apartment and he shot one of them.  The suspects then fled the scene in a black passenger car.

Officers went to the scene and found evidence to show someone may have suffered a gunshot wound and fled the area.  Area hospitals were notified.  Within an hour St. George Police were notified a person had shown up at the hospital in Cedar City with a gunshot wound.  Detectives responded to Cedar City and interviewed four individuals that were in a black car. After interviews St. George Police detectives arrested a 17-year-old female juvenile who was booked into Dixie Area Detention for burglary.

Two adult males were also booked in jail for burglary and criminal mischief.  They were identified as a 18-year-old male and 20-year-old male from Cedar City. Both of the adults were booked into the Washington County Jail.

When officers arrived on scene, they could smell an odor that appeared to be marijuana coming from the residence. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and a user-amount of suspected marijuana was found.  Subsequently the caller was arrested for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and for possession of a firearm with illegal drugs.

The case is still under investigation and more details will be released when they are available.
