Utah GOP Convention, election results incoming

SANDY – Utah Republican delegates converge at the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy for their party’s State Nominating Convention.

Some multi-county races began voting at 8 a.m. today.

In Southern Utah’s State Senate District 28, Casey Anderson and Evan Vickers, are headed to the primary for nomination. Anderson took 56.4 percent of the votes, Vickers 43.6 percent. 20 state delegates that could have voted in the District 28 election did not show.

The call to convention will be at 10 a.m.

Nominees to be decided today are for the following positions: Governor, Attorney General, Auditor, Treasurer, Senator, Congressional District 1, Congressional District 2, Congressional District 3, Congressional District 4, multi-county races for Utah State Senate and House of Representatives, intra-party races for National Committeewoman, National Committeeman, and National Delegates and Presidential Electors. Also, Constitution and Bylaw Amendments, Platform Amendments and Resolutions.
