Spotlight Performing Arts to show High School Musical; hold Hercules auditions

SANTA CLARA – A full cast of children will be performing a full-length production of High School Musical on Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10.

Although the show is High School Musical, the show is a cast of children ages or 5 and 15 years old.  The show is the full-length musical and is complete with songs such as “Getcha Head in the Game,” “Bop to the Top,” and “We’re all in this Together.”

The show will be performed at 7 p.m. at the Vista School, 585 East Center Street in Ivins.  Admission is $5.

The show is presented by the Spotlight Performing Arts School, and is directed Teresa Hill-Putnam, a dance, musical theater, vocal performance, and tumbling teacher.  Hill-Putnam has been teaching and directing children for over 25 years.

Actors will include Spotlight students Shilo Deggerman, 12; Mandy Jaeger, 11; Brooklyn Richins, 11; and Amber Putnam, 7.

Hercules Auditions

The Spotlight Musical Theater Company will also be holding auditions for their next musical, Hercules, on Saturday, March 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Spotlight Performing Arts Center located at 2309 Santa Clara Drive in Santa Clara.

Teens and children ages 5 and older are urged to audition.  No preparation is required to audition, just come ready to sing, dance, act, and have lots of fun.  No prior experience in musical theater is needed.

Rehearsals are held on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Spotlight Performing Arts Center.  Performances will be held at the end of June.

So get out your toga and head down to the boot of Greece, or just come out to Spotlight Performing Arts Center to audition to be your very own kind of hero

The Spotlight Performing Arts Center’s Musical Theater Company is a 15 week program that provides dance, acting, singing and performance training while preparing students to perform in a full length quality production.

The cost for the program is $150 which includes 15 weeks of classes and a script.
