Tigers beat Falcons and take second seed

HURRICANE – The Hurricane Tigers beat the Canyon View Falcons last night, 65-41, ending the chance for the Falcons to get their first region win.

Boston Gubler had another double-double for the Tigers going for 19 points and 13 rebounds. Gubler wasn’t the Tiger in double figures though, Colton Marshall and Landon Fisher scored 14 points and 10 points, respectively.

The Tigers won the coin toss the day before so they knew that if they won they would get the second seed in the state playoffs.

The Tigers came out with urgency, trying to put the Falcons away so they could rest up for their first round game on Saturday. The Tigers led by 8 after the first quarter and by 17 at the half.

The second half was much like the first half and the Tigers were able to put the Falcons away.

Kameron King led the Falcons with 17 points in his final game as a Falcon.

The Falcons end their season at 6-14 overall and 0-12 in Region 9.

The Tigers improve to 9-3 in Region play and 15-5 overall. By winning the coin toss the Tigers get the second seed and will play host to Park City on Saturday at 7 p.m.
