Dixie Regional Transportation Expo Preview

ST. GEORGE – The Dixie Regional Transportation Expo is returning to St. George for its eighth annual convention.

Among the highlights of this year’s event are the Dixie Drive Interchange, an addition to I-15 that is expected to reduce traffic congestion on Bluff Street, a presentation by the Saint George Municipal Airport on the construction of the new facility and day-to-day operations, and the upcoming SR-9 Preservation Study. Attendees can also count on many more showings of future transportation projects, as well as updates on those from years past.

Participants will include the cities of Washington, Hurricane, and Saint George, the Utah Department of Transportation, the Dixie Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Saint George Regional Trail System. Backing the event is the Dixie Clean Storm Water Coalition, an organization that seeks to reduce pollution in local waterways through public awareness and education.

The expo will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 11.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dixie Center Ballroom. Admission is free and all members of the public are encouraged to attend.
