Redmen shooting for win against Tigers

CEDAR – The Cedar Redmen (1-2, 8-4) host the Hurricane Tigers (1-1, 7-3) tonight at 7 p.m. The Redmen and Tigers were picked to finish Region play in second and third place. Both teams were in the Preseason Top Five for 3A, but with resent losses and great play by other teams in the Region, the Redmen and Tigers are just hoping to get to the playoffs.

The Redmen went 0-2 last week, falling to Desert Hills on Wednesday and being upset by Dixie on Friday. The Redmen have to hold tough on their home court to avoid falling to 1-3 in Region play. The Redmen’s Kyler Nielson leads the Region in scoring with 18.42 points-per-game and will need another big outing against the Tigers.

The Tigers went 1-1 last week losing at home on Wednesday to Dixie and beating Pine View on the road on Friday. The Tigers have to continue to use their size to their advantage. Falling in a 1-2 hole in Region play would be hard to dig out of considering the Tiger have not played Desert Hills yet.
