LA VERKIN – A 29-year-old man was arrested in La Verkin on Monday on multiple counts of theft.

Detective Travis Romney of the La Verkin Police Department said the suspect allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of copper rods from a local industrial company he used to work for.

Before being fired at the end of November, Romney said the man created a copy of a key to the company warehouse. He returned to the warehouse on four separate occasions and stole copper rods. He was arrested on Dec. 19.

The man currently faces five counts of theft over $5000.

Romney said the estimated value of the stolen property was between $50,000 and $60,000.
