ST. GEORGE –
A 17-year-old boy was life-flighted to Las Vegas after a bicycle crash on Sunset Boulevard.
According to press releases from the St. George Police Department, Francisco Flores crashed his bicycle on Sunset Boulevard near Tuweap Drive. The first officer on the scene reported Flores has sustained severe head trauma and immediately called for Life Flight.
Preliminary information regarding the accident placed Flores traveling east bound on the north side of Sunset Boulevard. After passing Tuweap Drive he was sweaving around pedestrians on the sidewalk and rode into an area covered in rock landscaping. His bicycle struck a large boulder, resulting in Flores hitting his head on impact. He was not wearing a helmet.
Traffic on Sunset Boulevard was blocked to traffic between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. as Life Flight responded and took Flores to Las Vegas for treatment.
Clark County officials confirmed Flores passed away on Dec. 7.
