ST. GEORGE – Wallace Jeffs, 50, half brother of FLDS leader Warren Jeffs, was life flighted after his suburban rear-ended a tractor trailer on Interstate 15.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Jeffs’ current condition is unknown. Jeffs’ vehicle caught on fire during the crash and he had to be rescued by emergency responders.

Marc Mortensen with the City of St. George said the accident occurred near 700 S on I-15  yesterday evening when the SUV rear-ended a semi truck. The accident happened while officers were attempting to divert traffic off of I-15 after another semi truck hauling 25 million bees crashed at mile marker 5 at the Dixie Interchange construction site.

St. George News reader Amy Lee took photos of the accident and said the suburban was underneath the semi truck and was missing its entire front left.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that the man driving the suburban was Wallace Jeffs, half brother of Warren Jeffs.

“The law offices of Roger Hoole, Wallace Jeffs’ attorney, confirmed Jeffs was hurt when his Chevy Suburban struck the rear of another semi. Wallace Jeffs is in a Las Vegas hospital with serious injuries,” the Tribune reported.
