Habitat for Humanity Fall fundraiser, Home is Where the Art is

Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah is providing an opportunity for you to Make a Difference in the lives of a local family and help it raise funds to build a “Home for the Holidays.”

On Nov. 5, the organization will hold its second annual  “ome Is Where the Art Is” silent art auction featuring local artisans. This event will be from 6:30 -8:30 p.m. at the Astoria at Green Valley, 567 South Valley View Drive, St George, UT.  Light music and refreshments will be provided.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical housing ministry that relies on donations and fundraising to bring a family “Home for the Holidays.” Its local chapter has provided housing for 80 people in Washington County as well as 13 families internationally since the affiliate was established in 1998. Each house built, each family served, each life forever changed starts with one that decided to make a difference.

This organization is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours into building their own Habitat house.

Members of the community can assist in the success of this fundraising event in a variety of ways.  All are invited to attend, bring friends and family to enjoy the evening, purchase your favorite pieces for yourself or as a gift for someone special, donate a piece for the art auction or sponsor the event.

Art donations will be accepted at Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah’s ReStore at 267 East 1400 South in St George.  The phone number is (435) 674-7669 for information.

Habitat’s staff invites all to please join in this exciting endeavor of helping to provide a local low-income family a decent place to live.

For other opportunities to volunteer or donate, please contact the Habitat office by phone at (435) 674-7669 or by email to [email protected].
