Flyers cruise past Falcons; Barney only 35 yards away from 2,000 for the season

ST. GEORGE – Dixie Flyers’ quarterback Blake Barney threw for 432 yards and two touchdowns leading the Flyers past the Canyon View Falcons 44-0.

Barney is now less then 35 yards away from passing the 2,000-yard make on the season. With the two touchdowns Barney has now thrown for 21 touchdowns.  Barney has now put himself in contention to be nominated as an all-state quarterback selection in only his junior year. Barney’s two touchdown passes came on passes of 84 and 91 yards.

The Flyers’ Justin Cummings ran for 55 yards on 8 carries and finished the game with three touchdowns. Cummings also scored on a fumble recovery late in the third quarter.

The Falcons have now lost four straight and fall to 0-3 in Region 9. The Falcons are now tied with Pine View for last place. The Falcons travel to Pine View Friday night for a 7 p.m. kickoff

Dixie travels to Cedar Friday night in a game that could decide third and forth place in the Region, kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Both teams seem to be on the right track to make the playoffs.
