2012 Virgin River Basin Calendar Photo Contest

SOUTHERN UTAH – The Virgin River Program has opened its annual Virgin River Basin Calendar Photo Contest.

The winning photo will be featured on the cover of the 2012 Virgin River Program Calendar, which will be released in late November, as well as being awarded an iPod Touch.

Other winning photos will grace months in the calendar and will be displayed at the Division of Wildlife Resources Building in Hurricane.

Photos can showcase aspects of the Virgin River Basin, including wildlife, landscape, seasons, water uses, and the river itself.

Contestants may enter up to ten photos and entries are due by September 30. Entry form and contest rules, including photo specifications, can be found at the Program’s website.

 The Virgin River Program was created to recover, enhance and protect the Virgin River and its inhabitants for all who depend upon it as a resource.  It includes signatory partners: Washington County Water Conservancy District, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, State of Utah Department of Natural Resources, U.S. National Park Service, U.S. Bureau of Land Management, Dixie Conservation District, Washington County Farm Bureau, The Nature Conservancy and U.S. Forest Service.  The program includes non signatory partners: Arizona Game and Fish Department, Nevada Department of Wildlife and Utah Water Research Laboratory.
