LA VERKIN – Officers in La Verkin evacuated the area of 180 W and 300 N after a fire broke out in the mobile home park.

During the fire, ammunition caught in the blaze began bursting inside the home, alarming neighbors. No one was hurt, however.

A next door neighbor to the home on fire said he only had a few minutes to grab a few things before the fire department made him evacuate his home.

At 3:30 p.m., firefighters were still battling the blaze with zero containment. It is currently unknown how the fire began, however neighbors speculated there may have been an illegal burn.
