ST. GEORGE – Brady Heber Aiken will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty in May to aggravated sexual abuse.
Washington County Prosecuting Attorney Ryan Shaum said Aiken will be sentenced on July 19 to 6 years to life for sexually abusing a young toddler.
Aiken was arrested in April 2010, after telling the Hurricane Police Department that he had sexually abused two children, both under the age of five. One of the children resides in Washington County and the other in Kane County.
St. George News previously reported that Aiken may also face charges in Kane County for allegedly abusing a child in 2000. According to court records, Aiken was investigated in 2003 for sexual abuse of a child, but no formal charges were ever filed.
In November 2010, Aiken was allowed visitation with his victim by Judge Eric Ludlow.
“The therapist thought this would be helpful for the victim,” Shaum previously told St. George News.
However, on April 12, 2011, Aiken was arrested again for violating the terms of his release by having contact with two minors in Kane County. Aiken finally spent his first night in jail after that arrest and has not been released.
Shaum said Aiken lost his visitation at that time and it is Shaum’s understanding that Aiken will be relinquishing his rights to both of his children at the sentencing.
