ST. GEORGE – Relive the excitement of race day by watching a one-hour recap broadcast of the 2011 Ford Ironman St. George on Universal Sports Network June 6 at 4 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. According to Universal’s website, the broadcast will air on channel 57 (Skyview) and 321 (Sky Angel) in St. George. On the Wasatch Front, look for this program on channels 113 (Comcast), 16 (Prime Time Communications), 321 (Sky Angel), 53 (UTOPIA) and NBC over-the-air 5.2.
The Ironman broadcast will additionally air June 10 at 10:30 p.m., June 13 at 1:30 a.m., June 19 at 8 p.m., June 23 at 3:30 p.m., June 30 at midnight and June 30 at 8 p.m.
Ford Ironman St. George is one of eight full-distance Ironman events held each year in the United States and one of 24 held each year around the world. At this triathlon endurance event, competitors are given a 17-hour time limit to complete a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and 26.2-mile run. From this year’s race, 65 of the fastest participants qualified to participate in the world championship held each October in Kona, Hawaii.
