St. George Police Arrest Woman Working Illegally in the U.S. on Identity Theft Charges

ST. GEORGE – Officers arrested a 31-year-old woman who was allegedly working and living in the United States illegally.

Officer Johnny Heppler said they received information that a woman was working at a hotel after providing forged identification documents to her employer. During the investigation, officers learned that the woman had purchased a social security card and alien card from an out-of-state vendor. He said St. George would work with any law enforcement agency investigating the vendor.

Heppler said the woman has family in the area, but needed the forged documents in order to work in the U.S. He said one of the victims whose identity was stolen had passed away several years ago.

The suspect was arrested and booked on 2nd and 3rd degree felony charges of forgery and identity theft.
