University of Phoenix Holds Commencement on May 7

ST. GEORGE – University of Phoenix Utah campus held commencement ceremonies for hundreds of graduates from 10 a.m. – noon on Saturday May 7, 2011, at Maverik Center.
The top three degrees this year, by number awarded, include business, counseling and elementary education.
Darris Howe, Campus Director and one of the first faculty members at the Utah campus when it opened in 1984, presided.
“I have seen the University develop incredible educational programs in my 25 year tenure,” said Howe.  “Today, the University not only has classrooms, but online programs, a fully online library, online textbooks and computer generated business simulations to challenge students to be ready for a wired business world.”
Howe still teaches, and is also vice president/director of five University locations in Utah:  Murray, Taylorsville, North Davis, Pleasant Grove and St. George.
