Free Comic Book Day

ST. GEORGE – The public is welcome to join the world wide celebrate of the 10 annual Free Comic Book Day at Comics Plus, a local comic book store.

David Roland, owner of Comics Plus said, “Since Hollywood releases its comic book based movies like Iron Man and Thor on the first Friday of May, it was decided that Free Comic Book Day should be the day after”.

Starting after the release of Spider Man in 2002, the celebration has been happening in locations around the world. “Free Comic Book Day is geared towards showing people that comic book aren’t just for kids”, Roland continued.

The Celebration brings many art enthusiasts together with today’s comic book artist. Comics Plus will host a free signing at the store from Artist Kimber Rose, who is known for her upcoming talent with watercolor and marker.

The festivities will be starting on Saturday, May 7, at 11am and last until 6pm. There will be live music, including a performance by the band Jupiter. Also, valuable prizes will be given away throughout the day.

Everyone is encouraged to dress up and come see their favorite comic book characters like Captain America, Supergirl, Spider-man, Catwoman and Star Wars characters like Darth Vader, Chewbacca, C3-P0 and Stormtroopers.

Comics Plus is located at 1812 W. Sunset Blvd in St. George. More information can be found on the company website, http://www.comicsplus.com
