BRISBANE, CA-Despite taking an early 4-0 lead against Hawaii Pacific University, the Dixie State College softball team could not hold serves and would lose a PacWest Conference doubleheader to the Sea Warriors 14-8 and 4-3.

Entering today’s games, the Red Storm (12-5, 6-2 PWC) was in the driver’s seat in the PacWest race. But dropping what seem to be the two most important games in their young season.

In game one, Brittnie Miller (Moab. UT/Grand High School) hit a three-run home run in the second inning to give DSC an early 4-0 lead. Only to see the Sea Warriors (21-7, 12-4 PWC) bounce back with five runs on six hits to take the lead 5-4.

Two Red Storm miscues in game two seemed to be the demise of the squad. Miller pitched four strong innings giving up three runs, but only one earned.

HPU struck first in the second frame on two Red Storm errors taking an early 2-0 lead.

Kelsey Mendenhall (Tooele. UT/Tooele High School) would get the Red Storm on the board with an RBI double in the 3rd inning cutting the deficit to 2-1.
