ST. GEORGE – The Interagency Visitor Center will be hosting the 2011 Brown Bag Lecture Series. The lectures start on at noon and 1 p.m. each Friday. Located at 345 E. Riverside Drive in St.George, Utah.

The series starts of with Geologist Marc Deshowitz. This is a prelude lecture for those who want to venture to Kanab Point with the Dixie Arizona Strip Interpretive Association on April 2, 2011.

Other lectures include:

April 8:  Leo Lyman speaks about Jacob Hamblin, the liaison to the indigenous Paiute people.

April 15: Join Theda Wrede, from Dixie State College, “Wrangling the West with Words.”

April 22:  Author Loren Webb’s stories, “Milking Time,” sharing history and folklore.

April 29:  Sam Jackson the cowboy poet.

These lectures are intended to both educate and capture the imagination.

The public is welcome to attend this free lecture series, but seating is limited. Call the interagency for information on how to reserve your tickets at (435) 688-3200.
