The Red Storm improved to 23-3 and 13-2 in the PacWest with the win and played with a renewed energy after a heartbreaking 53-50 loss to Hawaii Pacific on Monday night.
By shooting a stellar 57.1 percent in the first half, the Red Storm dominated from the onset and took a 47-13 into intermission. They also held the Silverswords (1-21, 1-14 PWC) to 13.3 percent in the half.
Dixie State turned 18 CUH turnovers into 25 points and won the battle of the boards 49-33.
10 of the 11 Red Storm players scored in the game, with Brown earning her 9th double-double of the season. Four of the players were in double figures. Breann Hill (Harrisburg, PA/McDevitt) scored 15 points; Erica Carlson (Tucson, AZ/Canyon del Oro HS) netted 12 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had five blocked shots. Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) was five of six from the foul line and added 10 points.
For Chaminade they shot only 21.7 percent from the field and no player in double figures. Markeshia Manning scored seven points and grabbed four rebounds.
The Red Storm conclude their regular season on Saturday afternoon when they island hop to the Big Island to take on Hawaii Hilo at 3:00 PM MT. The Red Storm will then learn their fate on Sunday night in the NCAA Tournament selection. Today the Red Storm learned they are #4 in the latest West Region Poll.
