Man Arrested for DUI While Driving Daughter to School

ST. GEORGE – Officers arrested a 39-year-old male this morning after he allegedly left the scene of an accident while driving his seven-year-old daughter to school. He was also charged with a DUI.

Officer Johnny Heppler said the man was allegedly driving his daughter to school when he hit another vehicle. The victim called police and stated the man fled the scene of the accident. One of the occupants in the other vehicle complained of minor injuries.

A patrol officer observed a green Chevrolet mini van with heavy front end damage traveling on 600 East 100 South. The officer observed both airbags had deployed. The driver of the mini van was eventually charged with DUI, following too close, leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance, previous owner plates, no seat belt and no driver’s license on his person.
