Washington City officers transported to DRMC after being hit on side of the road

WASHINGTON – Two Washington City police officers were transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center this morning when their patrol car was hit by another vehicle.
 
Public Safey Director Jim Keith said two officers were investigating three vehicle accidents near mile marker 1 when they were hit. The officers were in the patrol vehicle when another vehicle slid off the road due to icy conditions.

Public information officer Nancy Perkins said the Washington Officers were assisting three vehicles that had slid off the road and were waiting for tow trucks when they were hit. Hurricane officers responded to the scene to assist.

The Washington officers were released from DRMC with minor injuries.
 
Keith said the driver of the vehicle was transported for minor injuries.
