LA VERKIN – Two men who were arrested in La Verkin on the same day but in different cases for allegedly possessing child pornography will be heading to court next month.
 
Michael Adam Gary, 37, and John M. Wilson, 62, were arrested on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after being investigated by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Prosecuting attorney Brian Filter said the cases are not connected and both suspects have different attorneys.
 
Gary went through roll call on Monday and Filter said he is working out a possible resolution with Gary’s attorney. Gary will appear in court on Jan. 5 to see if a resolution has been made.
 
Wilson’s roll call was Dec. 13 and he requested a preliminary hearing. The preliminary hearing will be held Jan. 10, Filter said.
 
Filter said the pictures depicted minors in a sexual manner or engaged in sexual acts. La Verkin Police Chief Lloyd Watkins said in a previous interview that both men allegedly had hundreds of pictures downloaded.
