All 4 Adventure: Sheep Bridge

This adventure requires a bit of driving on dirt road, but I have seen cars do it. It has a bathroom and some picnic tables. It has breathtaking views of Zion National park and is only open during the day.

Many people will swim in the river when it is warm enough. There are several trails for hiking or horseback riding that lead off of the parking lot for the virgin falls.

To get there, travel toward Zion National Park, heading towards Hurricane and taking the Zion exit. When you approach the town of Virgin, you will see a right-hand turn on a gravel road by some new houses. On the left, is Smith’s Mesa Road and on the right, is Sheep Bridge Road. Turn right.

When you cross the bridge you can see down below the bridge the old historic sheep bridge.  They used to charge

There will be a left-hand turn just as you cross the river that says Sheep Bridge Park.  This is the road you want to take.  It is short but can be bumpy and rocky.  Once you reach the parking lot, you can explore the area and check out the river.

The falls are not very high, but the river does pick up some speed and has made some cool shapes in the
rocks.
