ST. GEORGE – Dixie State College of Utah’s Department of Music is presenting a special string chamber fall concert on Sunday, November 21, at 7:30 p.m., at the DSC Dolores Dore’ Eccles Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.
The program, under the direction of DSC music faculty member James Hardy, will feature performances by four student ensembles, beginning with Arcangenlo Corelli’s Trio Sonata, Op. 4 No.1, featuring Jentrie Truman on flute, Clarissa Nuckles on violin, Kim Jones on cello, and Terry Lamoreaux on the harpsichord.
The program will also include Dvorak’s String Quartet No. 12 n F-major (“American), Op. 96, with Katelyn Wall and Jamie Bybee on violin, Kaitlyn Stone on viola, and Nathan Bybee on cello; and Mark O’Connor’s Appalachia Waltz, featuring McKenzie Warren on violin, Jessika Soli on cello and Mattison Warren on bass.
The concert will conclude with a second Dvorak piece entitled Piano Trio in F-minor, Op. 65, with Katrine’ Baker on piano, Tara Tichenor on violin and Jessika Soli on cello.
“We’re very pleased to be presenting the largest group of Dixie State student chamber musicians to date,” Hardy said. “We have four groups of various combinations performing music from the earliest Baroque times up to Appalachian fiddle music from the 20th century. It will be an interesting and enjoyable variety of styles.”

In addition to the on-campus performance, the DSC string chamber ensemble will play a special encore performance at the St. George Opera House on Monday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m., as part of a new collaboration with the City of St. George.
