Teen arrested after hot-wiring, crashing dad's car

ST. GEORGE – Officers arrested an 18-year-old male for allegedly stealing his father’s car and then hitting a parked vehicle.
 
Officer Johnny Heppler said officers responded to a hit and run at 850 N 2450 E. The vehicle was later found to be stolen, and abandoned in an empty field.
 
Officers found the owner’s son at Dixie Regional Medical Center where he was being treated for unknown injuries, Heppler said.
 
Heppler said the teen allegedly admitted to hot-wiring the vehicle and getting into an accident.
 
The male was charged for driving on a suspended license from a previous DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, theft and theft of a vehicle.
