SANTA CLARA – Children with an interest in dance, singing, acting and musical theater have the opportunity to audition for two upcoming plays.
 
Auditions for “Grease, Jr.” presented by the Spotlight Musical Theater Company will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 to 10:30 a.m..  Teens and children (5 years and older) are invited to audition. Boys are especially needed.  No experience or preparation is necessary to audition. Auditions will be held at Spotlight Performing Arts Center, 2309 Santa Clara Dr. in Santa Clara. Rehearsals will take place on Saturdays from 9-10:30 AM at Spotlight Performing Arts Center for 15 weeks (Nov. through Feb. – no rehearsals during Thanksgiving or Christmas breaks). Performances will be held on March 4 and March 5, 2011. Tuition for this program is $150 per participant (included 15 weeks or classes and script.) The Ivins Children’s Musical Theater Company is proud to present the musical “Madagascar” on Nov. 19 and Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. at Vista School (585 E. Center St. in Ivins). This is a fun show based on the children’s movie “Madagascar.” Tickets will be available at the door for $5 each.
 
Auditions for “Sound of Music” presented by the Ivins Children’s Musical Theater Company will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.  Auditions and rehearsals will take place at the Recreation Building at Unity Park in Ivins. Rehearsals will be held on Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. for 15 weeks (Dec. through April- No rehearsals will be held during Christmas break). Performances will be held on April 1 and April 2, 2011. Teens and children (5 years and older) are needed. No experience or preparation is necessary to audition, just be ready to sing, dance, and act. Tuition for the program is $150 (to cover classes and script cost). Pre-registration is required in order to get a part in the show.  Resister for this program at Ivins City Hall.
