Teen charged with assault after threatening officers

ST. GEORGE – A 19-year-old female from California was arrested last night after allegedly threatening her mother’s life.

Officer Johnny Heppler said the teen’s mom called police after her daughter allegedly physically assaulted her while the two were staying at the Comfort Inn. The mom said the teen also threw a rock at her vehicle.

Heppler said when police arrived, the teen was allegedly combative and threatened the lives of the officers and had to be physically restrained after punching, spitting and kicking the officers.

The teen was charged with disorderly conduct, threat against life, interfering with arrest, criminal mischief, domestic violence and three third-degree felonies for assault against the officers.

Heppler said the mom and teen were in town on family matters. Alcohol was not a factor, he said.
