ST. GEORGE – Alumni, family and friends of Brigham Young University are invited to attend the “BYU Summit” event in St. George on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Desert Hills High School.

Hosted by the St. George chapter of the BYU Alumni Association, this community gathering will kick off at 5 p.m. with a BYU Creamery ice cream social featuring the Provo-based university’s mascot Cosmo and the Cosmobile, along with scheduled speakers, including BYU alum and former NFL player Austin Collie; former NBA player Fred Roberts; and Lexi Rydalch, a BYU alum currently playing in the WNBA.

A program and concert, beginning at 7 p.m., is expected to feature BYU Academic Vice President Matthew O. Richardson along with a panel discussion with athletic alumni hosted by popular BYU Sports Nation host Spencer Linton. The evening will conclude with an entertaining and high-energy performance by Vocal Point, BYU’s popular nine-member, all-male a capella group.

Tickets are now on sale for $15, $20 or $25 each, available for purchase via the event’s website, with all proceeds going to help fund scholarships for qualifying Washington County students attending BYU.

“This is another of our chapter events designed to bring friends and fans of BYU together with a singular purpose: to keep St. George ‘true blue’,” said Vicki Lewis, chairwoman of the St. George Chapter of the BYU Alumni Association.

The St. George Chapter of the BYU Alumni Association is one of many such organizations nationwide that offer services and activities to keep alumni connected and active in the life of the university today.
