ST. GEORGE Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, Mohave Search and Rescue and aircraft responded to a call for help from a man who was lost in the desert near Beaver Dam on Wednesday.

The man was without provisions and said he had previous medical issues and needed help.

Two Washington County Sheriff’s deputies and one from Mohave County were unable to find the man the previous night, Washington County Sheriff’s Sgt. Darrell Cashin said.

“I had a plane go up first thing in the a.m.. The pilot located the subject in Arizona. He called for (Intermountain) Life Flight to fly out and check the subject. They landed and decided to fly him back to St George.”

Cashin said the man’s vehicle was left on scene, but the pilot of the plane flew to Mesquite, Nevada, met up with a Mohave County deputy and drove out to the location.

The man was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center and his current medical condition is unknown.
