ST. GEORGE — A driver who had been waiting in a Walmart parking lot pickup zone was taken to the hospital after police said he wrecked his car Saturday afternoon.
The incident, which happened at approximately 4 p.m., involved an olive green Kia Soul parked on the south side of the Bloomington Walmart Supercenter building, 2610 S. Pioneer Road.
A man had been waiting in the car while his wife went into the store to purchase some items, St. George Police Officer Ken Childs said.
Shortly after the woman returned and got back into the car, Childs said, the driver lost control of the vehicle and backed into an unoccupied parked vehicle in a parking stall behind him. He then went forward and crashed into a line of shopping carts, sending them through a bay door and into the store’s cart storage area.
“He had some kind of medical condition and couldn’t feel his legs,” Childs said. “It’s unknown what caused it to happen, but he was transported by ambulance to the hospital for medical evaluation.”
Gold Cross Ambulance personnel loaded the man onto a stretcher and transported him to Dixie Regional Medical Center. No other injuries were reported.
The Kia sustained a flat tire and other significant damage to the rear panel on the driver’s side, in addition to some front-end damage. It was towed from the scene.
The other vehicle that was struck, a white Dodge minivan, sustained a broken taillight and other damage to its rear end.
In addition to the damage to the two vehicles and the bay door, several shopping carts were also damaged in the collision, and a parking stall sign was broken off.
No citations were issued, Childs said, as the incident occurred on private property.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement and may not contain the full scope of findings.

hahahaha, didn’t have to twist it at all. It just came to mind how much more damage these “medical episode people” could cause in a huge, heavy SUV or truck. 😉
and nothing says patriot like a big heavy RAM diesel made by an italian company known for their cheap, crappy little cars. it’s just funny 😉

Would the world be a better place if more LIBRULS drove big ol’ Fiat made RAM diesel pickups? They would at least APPEAR TO BE “true patriots” right? They could even put AMERICAN flag stickers and mini flags all over the Fiat made truck. The LIBRULS would be giving a lot of you right-wing loons a run for your money if they did that, huh? hahahaha 😉
That’s funny when I read this article my impression was that: judging from the green Kia was that the driver was probably a slack jawed granola munching liberal on his medical marijuana.
But the truth is that: after waiting for his wife in a car she made him buy and waiting much much longer than what is reasonable he had a nuptial meltdown.
God bless , speedy recovery.
I suppose it’s a shame he wasn’t in a big Dodge diesel RAM pickup like a good conservative/patriot.
Wow you have no life do you. You had to really twist this one to make your pathetic comment. I feel sorry for you and Ed. Hate hate hate.
