Nominees announced for Washington City Justice Court vacancy, comments sought

WASHINGTON CITY — The Washington County Nominating Commission has selected four nominees for an upcoming vacancy in the Washington City Justice Court. The position will replace Judge Lee Bunnell who will retire effective Jan. 1, 2017.

  • Honorable K. Jake Graff, J.D., Hildale City Justice Court Judge, Attorney at Bangerter, Frazier & Graff, PC, resident of Washington City.
  • Honorable Ronald L. Read, J.D., Washington County Justice Court Judge, resident of St. George.
  • Thad Don Seegmiller, J.D., General Counsel at Sunwarrior (Sun Brothers, LLC), resident of Washington City.
  • Kristin Kate Woods, J.D., Attorney at Law, resident of St. George.

A comment period will be held through Dec. 8, 2016, before a final candidate is selected by Washington City Mayor Ken Neilson, who has 30 days to make an appointment. The appointment is subject to ratification by the Washington City Council. The Utah Judicial Council must then certify the appointment.
