HURRICANE — A woman critically injured in a T-bone collision on state Route 9 in Hurricane Thursday evening has died, police confirmed Saturday.
Adela Castillo, 55, died Friday at Dixie Regional Medical Center from her injuries, Hurricane Police Sgt. Brandon Buell said. Castillo’s husband, who was driving, is also hospitalized.
The crash, reported just after 6 p.m. Thursday, involved two pickup trucks at the intersection of state Route 9 and 3400 West.
When emergency personnel arrived they found two seriously injured occupants inside a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck, with Castillo trapped on the passenger side.
Firefighters extricated Castillo from the truck by removing the passenger side door, Buell said, and once she was freed from the wreckage she was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
“The 55-year-old female suffered very critical injuries in the crash,” Buell said.
A preliminary investigation showed a 2001 tan GMC Sierra pulling a mini excavator on a trailer was heading westbound in the left hand lane on SR-9 when the Chevrolet turned directly in the GMC’s lane of travel. The driver of the Chevrolet was making a left hand turn, northbound onto 3400 West, when the crash occurred.

“Our deepest condolences to her family,” Buell said.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Idk maybe they have to have a certain number of accidents within a certain time frame to justify using the green arrow. Who knows
