ST. GEORGE — A motorcyclist who was reportedly driving too fast on a curve crashed into a parked car Sunday evening.
St. George Police responded to the incident at approximately 8:23 p.m. on S. Indian Hills Drive.
The motorcyclist, a man in his mid-20s, was traveling south when he approached a curve in the road. As he made the turn, he lost control of the motorcycle when he hit gravel in the roadway, St. George Police Lt. Jeff Bahlmann said. The motorcycle slipped onto its side and slid into a parked car in the shoulder lane.
The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and suffered some road rash and other injuries that were not life-threatening, Bahlmann said. He was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center by ambulance out of precaution.
The motorcycle sustained minor damage and was able to be driven away. The parked car it hit also had minor damage.
Any citation is pending until the man completes his medical treatment, Bahlmann said, but possible citations include failure to maintain lane or speeding on poor roadway conditions.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
