Crews are busy with flood mitigation work, according to the statement. As a precaution against possible flooding and debris flow, check dams of boulders are being built to slow water and silt that could pose a problem downstream.

No injuries have been reported in this fire, said Jason Curry, public information officer for the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands.

Property damage was limited to a small, dilapidated camp trailer. When the owner of the trailer was notified, he did not seem concerned about the loss.

Over 1,400 acres have been burned. Fire fighters include 275 fire personnel on the fire, with five Hotshot crews, four Type 2 handcrews, three helicopters and two air tankers.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
