MOHAVE COUNTY, Ariz. — In a strange turn of events Tuesday morning, Beaver Dam Fire Department received a report of a man who rolled his car on I-15 , ended up back on his wheels and then continued driving approximately 5 miles north until Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers caught up with him just before 10:30 a.m.

“I was going to go down there and do the size-up,” Beaver Dam Fire Chief Jeff Hunt said.

“I had the engine and ambulance following me, and I had Arizona DPS (Department of Public Safety) come up on our frequency and say, ‘Hey, we just got a report that he is rolling northbound … he’s going north right there! On the shoulder with his flashers on.'”

Hunt said the limping car was missing the right rear tire, the windshield was broken and the body of the car was severely damaged.

“It was really beat-up,” Hunt said. “According to the DPS, when they weren’t able to get hold of any witnesses, there’s no proof where the guy crashed his car or how he crashed the car.”

The man told officers he was driving to St. George; the man was not injured and had a valid driver’s license, Hunt said.

The driver was informed by police that his vehicle was unsafe to drive and a tow truck was called. No citations were issued.

“Every day I think I’ve seen it all,” Hunt said, “and then something new comes along.”

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Golly gee whiz this is really gosh darn weird. I’m just glad the driver wasn’t hurt. and there were no passengers. It hope the driver made it to St George. but the driver will be able to be home with family and loved ones. Praise the Lord !
