Washington City Police were called to the scene of the crash just after 4 p.m.

An adult male in a maroon passenger vehicle was driving south through the intersection with a green light when an adult female driver in a black passenger vehicle was attempting to make a left turn onto Red Cliffs Drive when she struck the maroon car, Washington City Police Public Information Officer Ed Kantor said.

The driver of the maroon car was transported by Gold Cross ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries, Kantor said.

The driver of the black car was not injured but she was cited for failure to yield, Kantor said.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and air bags deployed in both vehicles, Kantor said.

Both vehicles were damaged and inoperable and were towed away.

Minor traffic back-up occurred as emergency crews cleaned up after the incident.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

The 2 BAD driver behaviors I see way more of here are ,
the people at a red light in the left turn lane making the turn as soon as the light turns green ( BAD ) and
those at intersections without lights , making dangerous left turns across heavy traffic . ( also BAD )

Only brain damaged people jump into a left turn in front of traffic when the light turns green ,
And smart drivers have learned there are easier ways to get across traffic than thru intersections with no lights .
Often turning right into traffic then making a left at the next block is way less dangerous .

Absolutely agree with you 100% the biggest cause of accidents is just plain simple bad decision making
