Former Green Beret, NFL player Nate Boyer to keynote Patriot Day community celebration

IVINS — In honor of Patriot Day, the Southern Utah Veterans Home will host two free events featuring Nate Boyer, a former United States Army Green Beret and NFL Seattle Seahawks player, this Friday and Saturday.

Boyer will speak at 2 p.m. Friday at the Southern Utah Veterans Home, 160 N. 200 East in Ivins, and again at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Snow Canyon High School auditorium, 1385 Lava Flow Drive, St George.

He will be available for autographs and photos immediately after speaking at both locations.

Singer Brodie Perry will provide entertainment and Boy Scout Troop 1827 will conduct a flag ceremony at Friday’s event.

Seattle Seahawks memorabilia, including photos, tumblers and footballs ranging in price from $5 to $15, will be sold in anticipation of the autograph signing.

“We have worked very hard on the program this year and are very excited to welcome our community to share and celebrate Patriot Day with us and our guest Nate Boyer,” Community Relations Director Vie Van Noy, said.

Seating is limited and is first come, first served.
