DALLAS (AP) — Two snipers apparently shot 11 police officers during protests in Dallas on Thursday night and four officers are dead, the city’s police chief said in a statement.

The gunfire broke out around 8:45 p.m. Thursday while hundreds of people were gathered to protest fatal police shootings this week in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and suburban St. Paul, Minnesota.

Police Chief David O. Brown said police have a suspect cornered in a garage and are negotiating with that person. He says the snipers fired upon officers “ambush style.”

Brown had said three officers were killed, and police issued a tweet later saying a fourth officer had died.

“An intensive search” for suspects is currently underway, it said. No one is in custody.

Live TV video showed protesters marching along a street in downtown, about half a mile from City Hall, when the shots erupted and the crowd scattered, seeking cover.

Scores of police and security officers were on hand. Police and others hunched behind cars outside a parking garage. Officers with guns drawn were running near and into the parking garage as police searched for the shooter.

TV cameras showed the search for the gunman stretched throughout downtown, an area of hotels, restaurants, businesses and some residential apartments. The scene was chaotic, with helicopters hovering overhead and officers with automatic rifles on the street corners.

The BLM terrorists continue to retaliate for justified police shootings by murdering innocent people and leading/calling for the destruction of businesses and private property. Conversely, Obama and the BLM say and do nothing about black on black crime which kills many thousands of blacks on a regular basis.

Although blacks are providing a commendable service in eradicating America’s current and future criminals, they obviously remain overwhelmed.

    • Bob July 8, 2016 at 2:12 pm

it’s because #blacklivesmatter to them only when killed by cops, or whites. makes no sense at all

      • godisdead July 9, 2016 at 9:53 am

It makes no sense to you, because you choose to ignore how black Americans have been abused by the white establishment. Black Americans are afraid of the police because; they are pulled over and harassed when they drive through a white neighborhood, they are profiled and followed by store security when shopping, they are denied housing, they are denied jobs, and yes, they are even murdered.

        • RealMcCoy July 9, 2016 at 3:51 pm

So you say that ‘black Americans’ are really just reactionary animals, and cannot control themselves like other ‘races’?
Who invented the knockout game? Blacks. Oh, and who are the targets of the knockout game? Primarily white people.
Stop shoplifting, and people will like you in their shops.
Stop trying to live the thug life, and people will want you in their neighborhood.
Stop dressing like a gangbanger, and people will hire you.
As for abuse, I see blacks abuse the system quite a bit. On foodstamps, getting a welfare check, but somehow have that new weave, nails done, $800 new sneakers, $200 hat, and yet no job.
Yes, I’m generalizing- JUST LIKE YOU.
Oh, how is it that you give blacks the excuse that they ‘don’t have the same advantages as whites, so they can’t succeed’?
How do the mexicans that arrive with nothing, yet manage to work hard and support their family, and often start their own businesses?
What about the asians that arrive with nothing, yet manage to work hard and support their family, and often start their own businesses?
What about the middle eastern people that arrive with nothing, yet manage to work hard and support their family, and often start their own businesses?
What about the russians that arrive with nothing, yet manage to work hard and support their family, and often start their own businesses? (Oh, I bet you don’t count them because they’re ‘white’.)
          Islanders?
          Philippinos?
          Actual African immigrants?
Why are these people not foundering like the blacks are?
Answer these questions without using the word ‘racist’.
You choose to ignore the facts and like playing the victim card to everyone; try looking at real facts and answer these questions.
Refuse to answer them, and your entire argument is disqualified from relevancy.

          • godisdead July 10, 2016 at 8:02 am

            Real mccoy –
No, it is you calling black Americans “reactionary animals”. What kind of statement is that if it isn’t racist?
Black history, and their culture is completely different from mexican, russian, and Asian (etc) history and culture. You are comparing apples and oranges.
African Americans history in our country is unique. That history has formed their current culture. The white establishment is responsible for this because it has been forced upon black americans.
White Americans would be much more comfortable with blacks if they acted like submissive white people. If blacks had hair styles like whites, dressed like whites, talked like whites, and were submissive toward whites, everyone would get along, right ?
When black americans choose to opening display their opposition to white control, they are stereotyped as a bunch of criminals.
We all need to understand that hates breeds hate and the only way to de-escalate racism is to have some empathy toward one another.
McCoy, take an American history class that stresses Black history. Take a sociology class that stresses race in america.

          • RealMcCoy July 11, 2016 at 10:34 am

            godisdead-
You need to look at your own words.
You offer nothing but pathetic excuses for black people.
You scream racism, yet continue to talk about ‘white people’ and the ‘white establishment’.
You, and only you, are responsible for your life and your actions.
Any excuses otherwise makes you a whiny entitled bum.
I’ve had plenty of classes and read plenty of books. Figure it out for yourself-
MLK had your people on a good path, and then you threw it all away with your thug culture.
That was black people, not white people.
            Now go grow up.
You will never get my sympathy or pity as long as you play the race card.
Fix yourself, and then fix your broken ‘culture’.
Your hypocritical comments are nothing more than the rantings on a bathroom stall.

        • Accountable July 10, 2016 at 9:29 am

We need to immediately take the steps to abolish the welfare system and replace it with a works program. Welfare dependence has created behavioral poverty — unwed childbearing, social dysfunction. A works program provides experience, skill, and character to rise to individual responsibility and out of poverty.

Is anyone familiar with the Works Progress Administration? Roosevelt’s work-relief program employed more than 8.5 million people. WPA employees built bridges, roads, public buildings, public parks and airports/transit and also worked in elderly and child care, and the arts to beautify our public buildings, among many other endeavors. The WPA program in the arts led to the creation of the National Foundation for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The American Society of Civil Engineers most recently gave America a D+ rating in terms of infrastructure, citing dilapidated roadways, insufficient waterways and “a pressing need for modernization”. The group estimates $3.6 trillion would need to be invested into U.S. infrastructure by 2020 just to raise the country’s support systems to acceptable levels. Why aren’t we employing the vast number of able-bodied welfare recipients to work to improve our infrastructure?

Sanders, Clinton and Rubio have all published plans to fix U.S. infrastructure, often considered the foundation of the domestic economy. Trump has repeatedly spoken out in favor of investing federal dollars into domestic construction and rebuilding projects to get the country’s roadways and economic support systems to safe levels. Not one of them is willing to address the holy grail of the welfare system.

What will we do with those who will still refuse to work to support themselves, their families, and our Country? The biggest fear in cutting off the handouts is that those former welfare recipients will escalate their criminal behavior and endanger even larger numbers of our citizens. Will we continue to allow ourselves to be held hostage by the dregs of society?

President Franklin D. Roosevelt said it best: “Continued dependence upon relief induces a spiritual and moral disintegration fundamentally destructive to the national fibre. To dole out relief in this way is to administer a narcotic, a subtle destroyer of the human spirit”.

          • godisdead July 10, 2016 at 12:33 pm

There are other things out there that create dysfunction in society besides our welfare system.
People of color learn job skills, experience, and character, while serving in our country’s armed forces. When they transition back into society, they still have problems gaining employment. Why is this happening?
Some social scientists claim that many problems are because of the breakdown of families. There are claims that we have an unjust justice system when dealing with people of color. There are arguments about unequal education for people of color.
Historically, American white society has forced slavery, used terrorism of the kkk, and separation of blacks from whites (among other horrendous treatments). Significant problems are the results.

          • Accountable July 10, 2016 at 3:52 pm

There are many highly trained, educated people — college graduates, skilled tradesmen/women, certified professionals, etc. — who are having trouble finding employment in their fields. Mothers transitioning back into the workforce have trouble finding employment. There’s plenty of discussion that non-Mormons in Utah are discriminated against and, therein, have trouble finding employment. Many, if not all, of those job-seekers end up taking jobs/positions well below their capabilities in order to support themselves and their families. It’s absolutely astounding that the U.S. welfare programs actually pay people more to refuse to work and allows that behavior/choice.

Slavery ended in 1865 — over 150 years ago!! Enough excuses. Those slaves were already slaves/captives in their own country and were then sold by their own people — where’s your outrage over those facts? I’m not going to go into all of the programs and laws enacted to secure the placement of one race in jobs and educational institutions to the detriment of other races — wow, doesn’t that sound like discrimination to you?

If you want to discuss a real true tragedy, let’s talk about what the U.S. did to the Japanese. The day after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, the U.S. froze the assets of Japanese immigrants and Japanese American citizens. Two months later, the U.S. forcibly relocated over 110,000 Japanese and their American-born children into internment camps. Internees were forced to relinquish their lands, communities, schools, homes, businesses, money, and livelihoods for barracks in isolated interior areas of Arizona, Utah, California, Wyoming, Arkansas, Idaho, and Colorado. There they remained for four years until they were released the year after the U.S. (rightfully) bombed their homeland. Their land, property, belongings, money were not returned to them. They received no government assistance. Japanese Americans had everything taken from them yet they successfully rebuilt their lives due to their culture, pride, work ethic, moral fibre — all while being the victims extreme discrimination and abuse with no government assistance or intervention.

Unlike the Japanese, the African Americans have been given every opportunity and financial aid to help themselves over the past 150 years and the majority still refuse to assimilate or to improve themselves.

So, no, I don’t want to hear your excuses for their entitled, non-contributing, lazy existence.

        • ladybugavenger July 10, 2016 at 9:57 am

godisdead you should be calling the shooter a racist killer since he’s the one who plotted the kill against white officers

You want racism to go away? Then start with all government forms they should omit the box you check of what race you are.

We are not all the same race- never will be. Is that racist? I don’t think so.

It’s the killing and plotting and planning of a murderous heart that should you be ourraged about. Not the color of the skin

          • godisdead July 10, 2016 at 12:14 pm

Yes, when the shooter allegedly yelled that he wanted to shoot white policemen, he displayed his racism.
When someone categorizes all police, all white people, or all people of color, because of a few evildoers, it is racism.

          • ladybugavenger July 10, 2016 at 12:56 pm

Yeah, people shouldn’t categorize a few and call it all. All blacks, all whites. Oh my gosh! Did we just agree on something?

Wait! I’ve never seen a government official that wasn’t corrupt. They can’t all be corrupt, right? or can they? ? dun dun duuuuuuuuuuhn.

  • godisdead July 8, 2016 at 10:42 am

Accountable – you, and others like you are a big part of the problem. Your attempt at humor (?), is an open display of your racism.

    • Accountable July 8, 2016 at 1:56 pm

It’s an open display of REALISM — not racism. There’s nothing humorous in the fact that the majority of one race commits the majority of crimes in this country. This one race as a whole consistently refuses to assimilate into society, refuses to do anything to help themselves, refuses to take responsibility for their choices and actions. These are all well-documented FACTS — not racism.

Law-abiding, educated citizens are not the problem — criminals, race-baiting politicians, a welfare-based system, and absurdly uneducated liberals are the problem.

      • godisdead July 8, 2016 at 3:35 pm

It’s called institutional racism. Your facts are total B.S.. Most African Americans begin their lives with many disadvantages that most whites don’t have. Racism, yes even here in southern utah, is a huge stumbling block for employment and housing.
The crime you mention is primarily because of poverty. Why is there poverty? Because of racism. We reap what we sow.
Your generalizations about this “one race”, show your ignorance and outright racism.

        • ladybugavenger July 9, 2016 at 11:03 am

I like people until I don’t. I have neighbors that are black and I don’t treat them any different BUT they are drug dealers and involved some other neighbors and the drug traffic was out of control last week. Are they pissing me off because they are black? No, it’s the drug traffic that pisses me off. I spoke up to someone and for the last 3 days drug traffic is low. If they get evicted it’s not because they are black. Just sayin.

You’re so quick to accuse everyone of racism. I bet you live here because you enjoy the racial diversity so much and multi-cultural communities that co-exist in such harmony in St George. …
      Ed. ellipsis.

      • godisdead July 9, 2016 at 9:42 am

What kind of a response is this, 42214 ? When someone continues to spew racist comments, they are racists. Simple as that.
What is the point of my choosing to living in southern utah? There isn’t a logical reason for this, unless you’re trying to make me feel unwelcome.

        • Accountable July 9, 2016 at 12:20 pm

What kind of responses do you spew? Racism, racism, racism in total disregard of the FACTS. A word is all you have to throw around — nothing intelligent, nothing educated. Your repeated response is a completely bias response.

          • godisdead July 9, 2016 at 3:19 pm

When someone continues to spew racist remarks, they are racists. I know you can’t handle the truth, accountable, but look at your previous statements.
First, you call Black Lives Matter, a bunch of terrorists. You accuse Black Lives Matter, of all sorts of heinous acts. Gotta call Bu****it on that. So if one black guy kills a white guy, it’s black lives matter doing the killing? That’s crap and you know it.
Black on black crime is disturbing, but that is another topic for another day. The racist statement about blacks killing blacks, eradicating current and future criminals – calling it commendable – wow.
Your generalizations about an entire race are amazingly ignorant – and yes – racist. We have crime in utah, and in your mind the 1 percent of the population (blacks) commit the majority of crimes.
Maybe you should look at the reality of institutional racism in our country; minorities go to the worst public schools, they come from the poorest families, they are discriminated against when they apply for jobs and housing. They are born into a world where they are already at a disadvantage.
Maybe you should get a real education, something besides Glen beck, Fox news, and Sean hannity.
The reality is that you make ridiculous statements, hateful statements, about an entire race. This is called RACISM. You ARE a racist.

          • Bob July 9, 2016 at 8:46 pm

        • 42214 July 9, 2016 at 5:04 pm

Let me give you a comparison. A limousine liberal wants more gun control while he is surrounded by armed body guards. I find that hypocritical. You label someone a racist while living in one of the least racially diverse communities I’ve ever seen. I’m sure you see the comparison.

          • godisdead July 10, 2016 at 9:31 am

It’s true that southern utah, and Utah in general, is dominated by white culture. That kind of makes it doubly confusing. Confusing because so many people here are not around black people, yet they still display hate toward black people.

          • 42214 July 10, 2016 at 2:24 pm

Define how whites in southern Utah display hate for blacks. Godisdead throws hate and racist around as a tool to shutdown opposition and disagreement with liberal beliefs and doctrine.

          • 42214 July 10, 2016 at 5:19 pm

It’s obvious by your propensity to accuse others of racism and bigotry you are in fact, “doubly confused”

Far more whites are shot by cops than blacks in this country–media is silent. Blacks kill other blacks by the thousands–media is silent. A tiny number of blacks get killed by white cops (yes, maybe wrongfully in some cases), and the media goes nuts. You guys should understand that ZOG media is trying to fuel a race war. I’m not sure why at this point, but ZOG always has an agenda. Expect much more violence to come and blatant race baiting by the media.

    • RealMcCoy July 11, 2016 at 1:46 pm

That godisdead guy will respond with “cuz of racism! ”
He’s an idiot, and hellbent on denying facts for the sake of his BLM leanings.
Maybe he, personally, has felt the ‘hate’, but that would probably stem from the fact that he’s a race-baiting loser and his tirade gets old quickly.
He’s called everyone, including ‘all white people’, racists, yet has not had a single fact to back up his statements. His opinions are not facts.
It’s a wonder why STG news continues to let him spew his racism unchecked. He’s part of the problem with America right now- playing the blame game.

We could go on and on. I understand that no one likes to be called a racist. Am I a racist ? Probably, but i try not to be. We all need to recognize what racism is, and take personal responsibility for any discrimination around us.
When i’ve accused fellow commentators of racist remarks, I don’t do it lightly. Read the comments. What do they say about you ?
These comments include many generalizations about black americans that are racist.
I’m sure at least one of you has a dictionary to look up racism. If you don’t have a dictionary in the house, look it up online.
When i looked back at the comments, I found a number of personal attacks. I stated that if you make racist comments, you are a racist.
In turn, I was called the most racist, hateful, bigoted,…..
An idiot, a race baiting loser, and a whiny, entitled bum,
The racism in southern utah is displayed by the comments:
“Go play with your Black-Terrorist-matter friends”
      “The B.L.M. are terrorists ”
“Blacks killing blacks, eradicating current and future criminals is commendable”
MLK had your people on a good path, and then you threw it all away with your thug culture”
Talking about blacks “their entitled, non-contributing, lazy existence ”
“Black lives matter terrorists continue to retaliate for justified police shootings…”
“Stop shoplifting…., stop living the thug life, stop dressing like a gangbanger…”
About blacks, blacks “abuse – on foodstamps, welfare check, but able to have the new (hair) weave, nails done, $800 sneakers, $200 hat, and no job.”
” The majority of one race commits the majority of crimes, one race as a whole refuses to assimilate into society, refuses to do anything to help themselves, refuses to ….
Just look at what you have said. These generalizations are racist. Look it up (and this is the hate in southern utah).

You are the epitome of the purposefully blind, rhetoric-spewing, uneducated liberals who are destroying this Country.

You’re good at pointing out what is said, now try refuting it as not true. You call factual statements racist, that’s your problem. Not everything is racist, a lot is just cold hard fact that too many people don’t want to hear. Black Panthers from the 60’s to present day and in Philadelphia with batons at polling places are terrorists. BLM is founded on lies from Ferguson “hands up don’t shoot” Proven lie, You’re just a fool wrapped up in justifying a failed culture. How do you refute the fact of this statement, “MLK had your people on a good path and threw it all away with your thug culture” Sounds like something Einstein would have said.

Godisdead, racist alert! racist alert! The news story Stuff the Bus about supplies for underprivileged kids featured a photo of a little black girl. I don’t know about you but I’m deeply offended. Classic Microaggression.
