ST. GEORGE — The Meadow Gold Dairy plant in Boise, Idaho, has issued a voluntary recall Wednesday of its whipping cream and half-and-half.
The Meadow Gold brand Old Style Whipping Cream, Meadow Gold DairyPure brand Whipping Cream, and Half and Half have been recalled due to insufficient pasteurization, according to a media statement issued by the dairy plant Wednesday.
It is possible that pathogens present in raw milk — including Salmonella, Campylobacter, Listeria and/or E. coli — may have survived and, if ingested, could cause serious or life-threatening issues, according to the statement.
So far, Meadow Gold Dairy has not received reports of illnesses related to the affected product, and the company said it is removing the product from the market.
The recall involves approximately 10,000 units of the affected product, which was distributed in four states, including Idaho, Oregon, Wyoming and Utah, through numerous retail outlets and food service settings.
No other Meadow Gold Dairy products are affected by this recall.
