ST. GEORGE – A collision at the intersection of 500 North and Diagonal Street resulted in two cars being towed away Wednesday.
Just before noon, the driver of a brown Cadillac westbound on Diagonal Street was making a left turn onto 500 North. While making the turn the driver moved in front of a Ford Fusion traveling eastbound on Diagonal Street, triggering a collision, St. George Police Officer Andy Mickelson said.
Airbags deployed in the Cadillac and no injuries were reported among the occupants of either vehicle.
The driver of the Cadillac was cited for failure to yield, Mickelson said.
Both cars requiring towing from the scene, which was cleared around 12:30 p.m.
Left turns are among the most common causes of traffic accidents in St. George, according to the St. George Police Department. Other common traffic incidents involve rear-end collisions and general distractions while driving.
