MESQUITE, Nevada – An investigation into suspected drug trafficking resulted in three arrests by Mesquite Police last week.
Narcotics detectives arrested Nickolaus Wood, 37, of Mesquite, last Tuesday after securing a search warrant following a lengthy investigation involving the suspected trafficking and sale of methamphetamines, according to a press statement. Woods was taken into custody without incident.
Wood’s vehicle and residence were searched as a part of the warrant. At the residence, police encountered Trina Watkins, 28 of Overton, Nevada, and Fonda Ray, 32, of Mesquite. Both are alleged to have had methamphetamines in their possession when police arrived. They were also taken into custody without incident.
Items found in the residence included multiple bags alleged to contain crystal meth packaged for distribution, drug paraphernalia, scales suspected for use in weighing the meth bags, as well as a loaded semi-automatic handgun. The handgun was found to be reported stolen out of Las Vegas.
The three were transported and booked into the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.
Wood was charged with three felony counts of sales of a controlled substance, two felony counts of low level trafficking of a controlled substance, one felony count of trafficking of a controlled substance, and one felony count of possession of a stolen firearm.
Watkins and Fay were both charged with a single felony count of trafficking a controlled substance.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
