Who: Zion Lions vs. Brigham Sting

What: Season-opener in the Rocky Mountain Football League

When: 7 p.m. tonight

Where: Dixie Sunbowl (150 S. 400 E, St. George)

Details: The Lions went 11-1 last season, losing in the RMFL Championship to the Wasatch Revolution. Along the way, Zion beat the Sting twice, once in the regular season (34-20, on May 30) and once in the playoffs (30-7, two weeks later in the first round of the RMFL tournament).

Players to watch: The Lions will feature a new quarterback this season in Josh Ford. He was a receiver last year, but takes over QB for Misi Tupe, who will play mostly on defense at linebacker. Rimo Mapu is back from injury at running back and new receivers Kaipo Hurtt and Bailey Glass will be looked to in the passing game. For the Sting, quarterback Brad Thurber is gone, so the battle for snaps will be between Jordan Wager and Greg Williams. Running backs Wes Rees and Christian Kasyan return.
