ST. GEORGE — After police arrested a Washington City man and a St. George woman following a foot pursuit Tuesday, the woman allegedly offered to have sex with a police officer to avoid going to jail.

Around 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a St. George residence on a report of a family fight where a man, identified as 27-year-old Bradly Scott Hunt, was allegedly inside the home doing drugs, according to probable cause statements filed by the St. George Police Department in support of the arrests.

When officers knocked on the door, they noticed a man look out the curtains of a bedroom window, the report stated. When he made eye contact with one of the officers, the man immediately dropped the curtain.

“I then heard noise coming from the east facing window of that same bedroom,” the arresting officer wrote in the statement. “I walked around to that window and observed a female jump down to the ground.”

Once the woman’s feet hit the ground, she looked at the officer and attempted to hop over a small cinder block wall despite the officer’s commands for her to stop, the report stated. The woman, identified as 30-year-old Tiffany Rose Watson, stopped when the officer headed in her direction.

However, the officer then noticed Hunt running away from the back of the home, according to the statement. This prompted police units to spread out in the neighborhood to search for Hunt, while Watson repeatedly told officers she didn’t want to go to jail.

Watson then tried to flee from officers a second time by running inside the residence. Watson told officers she couldn’t go to jail and that she had to babysit, the report stated. Officers, unswayed by Watson’s pleas, detained and handcuffed her and placed her in the back of a patrol car.

Meanwhile, officers continued a lengthy search for Hunt, who was discovered to have three active warrants for his arrest, according to the statement. Police set up a cordon in the neighborhood and later located Hunt hiding in the backyard of a residence.

Hunt began to run again but was tackled by police and detained.

Both Watson and Hunt were transported to the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility.

While being transported to the jail, Watson allegedly offered to have sex with an officer if he would release her from custody, the report stated.

Watson was booked into the jail and was charged with a class A misdemeanor for failure to stop at the command of law enforcement and a class B misdemeanor for interference with an arresting officer.

In addition to a third-degree felony and two class B misdemeanor warrants, Hunt was charged with two class A misdemeanor counts of failing to stop at the command of law enforcement.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
